Wolverhampton Best Bets
Race 2: TIE A YELLOWRIBBON (3)
Trainer: James Bethell
Jockey: Josephine Gordon
The addition of cheekpieces can play a part in TIE A YELLOWRIBBON putting in a big run in this fillies only handicap over six furlongs. She's shown abundant promise in four of her six career starts but probably needs her first run back, explaining why she managed only a mid-division finish at Ripon earlier in the month.
Race 7: FITZWILLY (2)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Miss Nell McCann
Miss McCann has the distinction of defending an unbeaten record as a jockey, having scored on her only ride under Rules for her boss Channon on Social Butterfly last year. She has partnered FITZWILLY in much of his work at home and the veteran is ready to put his best foot forward.
Southwell Best Bets
Race 2: BETTYS HOPE (5)
Trainer: Rod Millman
Jockey: Theodore Ladd
Having been unlucky to go down by inches in a head bob at Beverley after another second placing on her debut, BETTYS HOPE can make full use of her sex allowance and thwart Littledidyouknow. Her Beverley conqueror Birkenhead ran a cracker from a bad draw at Ripon on Saturday to give the form a boost, and as long as she handles this deep surface she should make no mistake.
Race 4: MUQARRED (5)
Trainer: Roger Fell
Jockey: Jamie Gormley
Several in form course specialists clash in this one turn handicap but MUQARRED is the one to be on based on a very good effort over course and distance last time. Had he not been forced wide the 7yo might have won, but crucially he's drawn against the rail today, which means a similar wide trip is hard to contemplate.
